Castiarina placida

Meaning of name:

The name Castiarina is derived from that of Francois Louis Nompar de Castelnau. Placida is from the Latin word placidus, meaning gentle or mild.

Distribution:

This beetle occurs on the coastal plains of Western Australia between Geraldton and Albany.

Description:

This beetle is approximately 11 millimetres long.

Notes:

It was found on Nuytsia floribunda flowers in December.
