The name Castiarina is derived from that of Francois Louis Nompar de Castelnau. Trifasciata is from the Latin and Greek prefix tri-, meaning three, and the Latin word fascia, meaning band.
This beetle is known from the southwest of Western Australia.
This beetle grows to approximately 10-15 millimetres long.
We have found this beetle feeding on the flowers of Conospermum triplinervium in September and October.
