



Xanthosia huegelii
Common name: Heath Xanthosia
Xanthosia is from the Greek word xanthos meaning yellow. It refers to the colour of the hairs found on some species. Huegelii honours Carl Alexander Anselm, Baron von Hugel (1796 – 1870), an Austrian traveller and naturalist who visited the Swan River and King George Sound in 1833.
Occurs in the southwest of Western Australia. Also occurs in south eastern Australia.
An erect or spreading herb to 30 centimetres tall. The flowers are produced from August to November.
