Xanthagrion erythroneurum

Common name: Red & Blue Damsel

Meaning of name:

Unknown.

Distribution:

Found throughout Australia except far-northern Queensland.

Description:

Orange to red markings on the thorax. The male is marked with vivid blue near the end of the abdomen.

Notes:

It inhabits slow sections of mostly wider streams and still waters.

We have photographed this species in September, October and December.
