Scientific name: Sericornis maculatus
Sericornis is from the Greek words sericis, meaning silken, and ornis, meaning bird. Maculatus is a Latin word meaning blotched or spotted.
Binkimom (been’kee’mawm).
Found in south west Western Australia and southern coastal areas to Adelaide in South Australia.
Up to 12.5 centimetres long with a 16.5 centimetre wingspan.
