


Vicia sativa
Common name: Common Vetch
Vicia is from the Latin word vincio, meaning to bind, on account of the tendrils. Sativa is from the Latin word sativus, meaning cultivated, planted.
Occurs in the southwest of Western Australia. Also occurs in south eastern Australia.
A scrambling herb. The pink, red, purple or white flowers are produced from September to November.
This species is originally from Europe.
