Verbascum virgatum

Common name: Twiggy Mullein

Meaning of name:

Verbascum was the Latin name given to this plant. Virgatum is from the Latin word virgatus, meaning twiggy or striped.

Distribution:

Occurs in near-coastal areas in the southwest of Western Australia. Also occurs in south eastern Australia.

Description:

A herb to 2 metres tall with yellow flowers produced from June to November.

Notes:

This species is originally from Europe.
