Urospermum picroides
Common name: False Hawkbit
Urospermum is from the Greek words oura, meaning tail, and sperma, meaning seed. Picroides is named after the genus Picris with the suffix –oides, meaning like.
Occurs in disturbed areas in the western part of Western Australia. Also occurs in south eastern Australia.
A herb to 1.2 metres tall with yellow flowers in October and November.
This species is originally from the Mediterranean region.
