Trifolium hirtum

Common name: Rose Clover

Meaning of name:

Trifolium is from the Latin words tres, meaning three, and folium, meaning leaf. Hirtum is from the Latin word hirtus, meaning hairy, shaggy with long hairs.

Distribution:

Occurs in the south west of Western Australia. Also occurs in south eastern Australia.

Description:

An annual herb with pink and purple flowers produced from October to March.

Notes:

This species is originally from southern Europe and North Africa.
