Stylidium piliferum

Common name: Common Butterfly Triggerplant

Meaning of name:

Stylidium is from the Latin word stylus, meaning style, and the diminutive –idium. Piliferum is from the Latin words pilus, meaning hair, and fero, meaning to bear. Botanically it means ending in a delicate hair-like point, or bearing hairs.

Distribution:

Occurs in the southwest of Western Australia.

Description:

A perennial herb with a flowering stem to 50 centimetres tall. The white or pink flowers are produced from September to November.
