



Stylidium hispidum
Common name: White Butterfly Triggerplant
Stylidium is from the Latin word stylus, meaning style, and the diminutive –idium. Hispidum is from the Latin word hispidus, meaning rough, bristly, prickly. Botanically it means rough with short, stiff hairs.
Usually occurs on the Darling Scarp and Range from New Norcia to Yarloop, inland to Northam.
A perennial herb with a flowering stem to 40 centimetres tall. The white, cream or yellow flowers are produced from August to October.
