Argiope protensa
Common name: Long-tailed Argiope
Meaning of name:
Argiope is Latin for with bright face. Protensa is from the Latin word protensus, meaning stretched out or extended.
Distribution:
Found throughout Australia.
Description:
This spider had a body length of approximately 20 millimetres.
Notes:
We have photographed it in June and October.
