Sisymbrium orientale

Common name: Indian Hedge Mustard

Meaning of name:

Sisymbrium is the Latin name used by Pliny for mint and watercress. Orientale is from the Latin word orientalis, pertaining to the east or oriental.

Distribution:

Found throughout Australia.

Description:

An erect annual or biennial herb to 1 metre tall. The yellow flowers are produced from March to November.

Notes:

This species is originally from western Asia and the Mediterranean.
