Senecio hispidulus

Common name: Hispid Fireweed

Meaning of name:

Senecio is from the Latin word senex, meaning old man. Hispidulus is from the Latin words hispidus, meaning rough, bristly and prickly, and the diminutive –ul-.

Distribution:

Occurs in the southwest of Western Australia. Also occurs in south eastern Australia.

Description:

An annual or biennial herb to 1 metre tall. The yellow flowers are produced from August to February.
