Distribution:
Reported from south west Western Australia. More widely spread through south eastern Australia.
Description:
This grasshopper had a body length of approximately 30 millimetres long.
Notes:
This grasshopper was photographed in December after being attracted to light at night.
This individual is likely to be female as females can grow to 33 millimetres long whereas males only grow to 23 millimetres long.
Disappearing Grasshoppers get their common name from their habit of diving into long grass after an escape flight and disappearing.
