



Robshelfordia simplex
Common name: Shelford’s Western Cockroach
Meaning of name:
Robshelfordia recognises Robert Shelford, who wrote several papers on Australian cockroaches from 1906. Simplex is a Latin word meaning not compound or not divided.
Distribution:
This cockroach is known from the south-west and south-east of Australia but not from the areas in between.
Description:
This cockroach was approximately 10 millimetres long.
Notes:
We have photographed this species in December, February, March and April.
