



Ptilotus polystachyus
Common name: Prince of Wales Feather
Meaning of name:
Ptilotus is from the Greek word ptilotos, meaning winged. Polystachyus is from the Greek words poly, meaning many, and stachyus, meaning it relates to a flower spike.
Distribution:
Occurs across much of Australia.
Description:
This plant can grow to 1.5 metres tall. The greenish flowers can be produced from April to January.
