






Polypogon monspeliensis
Common name: Annual Beardgrass
Polypogon is from the Greek words polys, meaning many, and pogon, meaning beard. Monspeliensis indicates that the plant is of or from Montpellier, France.
Occurs across much of southern Australia.
A tufted annual to 60 centimetres tall. The flowers are produced from May to November.
This species is originally from Europe, North Africa and Asia.
