





Pinus pinaster
Common name: Pinaster Pine
Pinus is Latin for a pine. Pinaster is from the Latin pinus, meaning pine, and the suffix –aster, indicating resemblance but with an implication of inferiority.
Occurs in the southwest of Western Australia. Also occurs in south eastern Australia.
A tree to 40 metres tall with brown flowers during September and October.
This species is originally from the Mediterranean.
