Pheladenia deformis
Common name: Blue Fairy Orchid
Meaning of name:
Pheladenia is from the Greek words phelos, meaning false, and aden, meaning a gland. Deformis is Latin meaning departing from the correct shape.
Distribution:
Occurs in the southwest of Western Australia. Also reported from south eastern Australia.
Description:
A single blue flower is held up to 15 centimetres above a small, single leave from May to September.
Notes:
This species was previously known as Cyanicula deformis.
