



Olea europaea
Common name: Olive
Olea is a Latin word meaning an olive or olive tree. Europaea is from the Latin word europaeus, meaning European.
Occurs around settled areas across southern Australia.
A tree to 15 metres tall. The white flowers are produced in October and November. The fruits are green at first and turn black when mature.
This species is originally from the Mediterranean region.
