Oenothera stricta
Common name: Common Evening Primrose
Oenothera is from the Greek words onos, meaning an ass, and thera, meaning hunting. Stricta is from the Latin word strictus, meaning straight, erect or rigid.
Occurs in the southwest of Western Australia. Also occurs in south eastern Australia.
A herb to 1 metre tall. It produces yellow flowers all year round.
This species is originally from South America.
