



Oenothera glazioviana
Common name: Evening Primrose
Oenothera is from the Greek words onos, meaning an ass, and thera, meaning hunting. Glazioviana is named after Auguste Francois Marie Galziou (1828 – 1906), a French-born artist and botanist in Brazil. The name has the Latin suffix –ianus, meaning belonging to.
Occurs in the southwest of Western Australia. Also occurs in south eastern Australia.
A herb to 1.6 metres tall. It produces yellow flowers from November to March.
This species is originally from Brazil.
