There are 25 species of Toad bugs (Nerthra sp.) known in Australia with five being found in the south-west of Western Australia.
This bug was approximately 10 millimetres long.
Most toad bugs are found near water but some species inhabit drier areas. They are predators that capture and eat other invertebrates.
It was seen in January.
