Narcissus papyraceus

Common name: Paperwhite

Meaning of name:

Narcissus is named after the Greek youth who pined away while entranced by his reflection. Papyraceus is a Latin word meaning papery, referring to the paper-white flower corolla.

Distribution:

Recorded from southern parts of Australia.

Description:

This is a bulb that grows up to 35 centimetres tall.

Notes:

This species is originally from the Mediterranean region.
