Monopsis debilis

Meaning of name:

Monopsis is from the Greek words monos, meaning single, and opsis, meaning appearance. Debilis is a Latin word meaning feeble or crippled.

Distribution:

Occurs in the southwest of Western Australia. There are scattered occurrences in eastern Australia.

Description:

A herb to 20 centimetres tall. The small purple flowers are produced from October to December.

Notes:

This species is originally from South Africa.

This plant was previously known as Monopsis simplex.
