

Monoculus monstrosus
Common name: Stinking Roger
Monoculus is from the Greek words mono, meaning one, and oculus, meaning an eye. Monstrosus is a Latin word meaning abnormal or monstrous.
Occurs in the southwest of Western Australia. Also occurs in south eastern Australia.
An erect annual to 50 centimetres tall. The flowers are banded yellow on the outer edge and brown on the inner.
This species is originally from South Africa.
This plant was previously known as Osteospermum clandestinum and Tripteris clandestina.
