Common name: Spearmint
Mentha is a Latin word meaning mint. Spicata is from the Latin word spicatus meaning spicate (arranged in the shape of a spike, or having spikes).
Reported from damp areas of the south west of Western Australia. Also found in south eastern Australia.
Spearmint can grow up to 1 metre tall.
This species is originally from Europe and Asia.
