




Melaleuca lateritia
Common name: Robin Redbreast Bush
Melaleuca is from the Greek words melas, meaning black, and leucos, meaning white. It refers to the black trunk and white branches of some Asian species. Lateritia is from the Latin word lateritius meaning made of bricks. Botanically it means dark brick-red.
Occurs in the southwest of Western Australia
A shrub to 2 metres tall. The red flowers are produced from September to April.
