



Lomandra caespitosa
Common name: Tufted Mat Rush
Lomandra is from the Greek words loma, meaning the border of a robe, and andros, meaning man. It refers to the border of the anthers in some species. Caespitosa is from the Latin word caespes, meaning a mound or thatch of turf. Botanically it means tufted.
Occurs in the south west of Western Australia.
A tufted plant to 35 centimetres tall. The yellow flowers are borne from July to October.
Lomandra have separate male and female plants. However, they are difficult to tell apart with Lomandra caespitosa.
