Levenhookia stipitata
Common name: Common Stylewort
Levenhookia is named in honour of Antonius van Leeuwenhoek (1632 – 1723), a Dutch zoologist and microscopist, who discovered the capillary circulation of the blood. Stipitata is from the Latin words stipes, meaning trunk of a tree. Botanically it refers to having a stalk.
Occurs in the south west of Western Australia.
A herb to 10 centimetres tall. The pink flowers are produced from October to December.
