Lepidosperma leptostachyum

Meaning of name:

Lepidosperma is from the Greek words lepis, meaning scale, and sperma, meaning seed. It refers to the scales surrounding the nut. Leptostachyum is from the Greek words leptos, meaning thin, slender, and stachys, meaning ear of corn, flower-spike.

Distribution:

Occurs in the south west of Western Australia.

Description:

A herb to 65 centimetres tall. Flowers are borne from April to June.
