



Laxmannia ramosa
Common name: Branching Lily
Laxmannia honours Erik Laxmann (1737 – 1796), a pastor in Siberia who wrote on Siberian botany and sent specimens to Linnaeus’s herbarium. Ramosa is from the Latin word ramosus meaning much branched.
Occurs in the south west of Western Australia.
A sprawling plant with stems up to 30 centimetres long. Flowers are white with a red stripe and are borne along the stems from May to June.
