



Lagurus ovatus
Common name: Hare’s Tail Grass
Lagurus is from the Greek words lagos, meaning hare, and oura, meaning tail. Ovatus is from the Latin word ovum, meaning egg. Botanically it means egg-shaped, wider below the middle.
Mainly reported from near-coastal areas of southern Australia.
An erect annual to 30 centimetres tall. The pale green- to straw-coloured flowers are produced from August to December.
This species is originally from the Mediterranean region.
