Indian Ringneck

Scientific name: Psittacula krameri

Meaning of name:

The meanings of this bird’s names are not known.

Distribution:

This species is an aviary escapee. It is not found in Australia in any great numbers. It is native to India and central Africa.

Description:

This bird is up to 43 centimetres long. Male birds have a narrow black and pink collar which is absent from female and immature birds. Being a cage bird, the birds come in different colours of yellow, blue, grey, white and green.
