Hibbertia hypericoides

Common name: Yellow Buttercups

Meaning of name:

Hibbertia is in honour of George Hibbert (1757 – 1837), a nurseryman of Clapham, London. Hypericoides is from the genus Hypericum and the suffix –oides, meaning -like.

Distribution:

Occurs in the south west of Western Australia.

Description:

A spreading shrub up to 70 centimetres tall with leaves up to 15 millimetres by 4 millimetres. The yellow flowers are up to 25 millimetres across and can be found from April to November.
