Hesperantha falcata

Meaning of name:

Hesperantha is from the Greek words hesperos, meaning evening, and anthos, meaning flower. Falcata is from the Latin word falcate, meaning shaped like a scythe or sickle.

Distribution:

Found mainly around the Perth region.

Description:

The plant grows to 45 centimetres tall. The flowers, which are white on the inside and purplish on the outside, are produced from August to October. The flowers open in the afternoon.

This plant is originally from South Africa.
