Hardenbergia comptoniana
Common name: Native Wisteria
Hardenbergia honours Franziska, Countess of Hardenberg, an active patron of botany. Comptoniana honours Mary, 1st Marchioness of Northampton who introduced the plant to cultivation in Britain about 1810 (Compton is the family name of the Northamptons).
Occurs in the south west of Western Australia.
A vigorous twining shrub or climber. The blue to purple, or white, flowers are produced from June to September.
