Distribution:
Widespread across mainland Australia.
Description:
The winged adult grasshopper was approximately 20 millimetres long. The nymph grasshopper was approximately 10 millimetres long. The nymph is the last instar before moulting to become an adult.
Notes:
Common Bandwings prefer open sandy areas like dirt tracks.
The nymph was photographed in November. The adult was photographed in April.
