


Goniaea vocans
Common name: Slender Gumleaf Grasshopper
Unknown.
Widespread across most of Australia.
This grasshopper grows to 63 millimetres long. The adult in the photographs is approximately 52 millimetres long.
This grasshopper can be separated from its relative, Goniaea australasiae, by the position of the notch on the pronotum (the saddle-like structure behind the head). See the side view of the grasshopper to see this notch.
We have photographed this species in November, December and March.
