


Euzosteria femoralis
Common name: Spinifex Tortoise Cockroach
Meaning of name:
The meaning of Euzosteria femoralis is not known.
Distribution:
This cockroach is known from the south-west of Western Australia.
Description:
This cockroach was approximately 30 millimetres long. It is identified by the reddish margin of the first three segments.
Notes:
Euzosteria species are often seen wandering by day in arid conditions. They have been known to spray a pungent fluid at aggressors.
We have photographed this species in April.
