Cyperus eragrostis

Common name: Umbrella Sedge

Meaning of name:

Cyperus is the Latin name given to this genus. Eragrostis is named after the genus of grass called Eragrostis.

Distribution:

Occurs in the south west of Western Australia. Also found in south eastern Australia.

Description:

Grows to 80 centimetres tall. Flowers can be found from June to January.

Notes:

This species is originally from South America.
