This wasp is approximately 30 millimetres long.
Great Orange Huntsman Wasps search for Huntsman Spiders during summer. The spider is subdued by a sting from the wasp. But the spider is not killed, just paralysed. The wasp then drags the spider to an already prepared burrow. The wasp lays an egg on or near the spider and, when hatched, the wasp grub has a fresh meal to eat.
