Distribution:

Widespread across mainland Australia.

Description:

This grasshopper grows to 54 millimetres long.

Notes:

There are five different races of this grasshopper. One of the identifying features of the races is the colourful hind leg.  See the photograph of this grasshopper on the blue background to see this feature.

We have photographed this grasshopper from September to January.
