Comesperma virgatum
Common name: Milkwort
Comesperma is from the Greek words come, meaning hair, and sperma, meaning seed. The seeds of most species have a tuft of hairs. Virgatum is from the Latin word virgatus, meaning twiggy or striped. Botanically it means long, slender and stiff, or streaked.
Occurs in the south west of Western Australia.
An erect shrub to 1.6 metres tall. The pink to purple flowers are produced from September to March.
