




Chamaecytisus palmensis
Common name: Tagasaste
Chamaecytisus is from the Greek words chamai, meaning on the ground, and cytisus, referring to the genus Cytisus. The meaning of palmensis is not known.
Tagasaste can be found in the south west of Western Australia. It is also found in the south east of Australia.
A small tree with white flowers from June to September.
Tagasaste was introduced into Australia as a fodder plant and for land rehabilitation. This species was previously known as Cytisus proliferus.
