Castiarina rufipennis
The name Castiarina is derived from that of Francois Louis Nompar de Castelnau. Rufipennis is from the Latin words rufus, meaning red or reddish-brown, and pennatus, meaning winged.
This beetle has been reported from across Australia except for the Northern Territory and Tasmania.
This beetle is approximately 13 millimetres long.
We have found it on the flowers of Nuytsia floribunda and Melaleuca rhaphiophylla in October and December.
