Calytrix fraseri

Common name: Pink Summer Calytrix

Meaning of name:

Calytrix is from the Greek words calyx, meaning cup, and thrix or trichos, meaning hair. It refers to the long awns, or stiff hairs, terminating the calyx-lobes. Fraseri honours Charles Fraser (1788 – 1831), first superintendent of the Sydney botanical gardens and colonial botanist.

Distribution:

Occurs from Kalbarri to Lake Grace.

Description:

An erect shrub to 1.5 metres tall. The pink flowers are produced from November to May.
