Burchardia multiflora
Common name: Dwarf Burchardia
Burchardia honours Johann Heinrich Burckhard (1676 – 1738), a German botanist. Multiflora is from the Latin words multus, meaning many, and floris, meaning flower.
Occurs in the southwest of Western Australia.
The flower stems are up to 27 centimetres tall above slender leaves. The pinkish white flowers, produced from July to October, have purple anthers.
The colour of the anthers is the easiest way to separate Burchardia multiflora and Burchardia congesta. Burchardia congesta has yellow anthers.
