Billardiera fraseri

Common name: Elegant Pronaya

Meaning of name:

Billardiera honours Jacques Julien Houton de la Billardiere (1755 – 1834), the botanist on the Bruni d’Entrecasteaux’s 1791-1794 voyage. Fraseri honours Charles Fraser (1788 – 1831), first superintendent of the Sydney botanical gardens and colonial botanist.

Distribution:

Occurs in the southwest of Western Australia.

Description:

A twining shrub. The flowers are produced in January and February.
